Arizona Game and Fish reacts to Prisma Graphic raid
Sensitive customer information secured through rigorous process
PHOENIX – The Arizona Game and Fish Department reassures its customers that their sensitive, personal information is secure in light of a raid this morning by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office on Prisma Graphic in Phoenix.
Officers were reacting to information that undocumented immigrants with falsified documents were working at the printing facility. Ten individuals were reportedly arrested during the raid.
As a contractor to the Game and Fish Department, Prisma Graphic printed hunting and fishing licenses, and OHV and watercraft renewal notices. The department has done business with Prisma and its predecessors since 2000. However, the contract expired yesterday (Oct. 31, 2011), before this event took place, and will not be renewed.
The department used secure data (SSTP) files to transmit information to Prisma, and those files were accessible only by a limited number of authorized personnel who were not a part of MCSO’s investigation. For added security, Prisma did not receive credit card information, social security numbers or hunter identification numbers.
The recent renewal of the department’s online application process for spring hunts for turkey, javelina, buffalo and bear has closed. Those tags have not been drawn or printed at this time, and Prisma Graphic will not be the vendor for that printing.
Game and Fish has received information from MCSO detectives that no files or documents related to hunting, fishing licenses or watercraft or OHV renewals were seized.
