2011 Black Mountain Photo Contest Winners
Desert Foothills Land Trust is pleased to announce the results of the 9th Annual Black Mountain Photo Contest. Professional photographers Don Asakawa, Alan Lowy and Jerry Sieve reviewed nearly 70 entries and chose 15 finalists. The winning photos were on public display for viewing and voting for the People's Choice Award at the Cave Creek Museum, Cave Creek Bicycle Festival and Desert Foothills Library, as well as the Land Trust's Facebook page.
The People's Choice Award winner was Phil Shultz! Phil's beautiful photo (pictured here) is featured on the cover of the 2012 Black Mountain Photo Contest calendar.
Additionally, the professional photographers selected their top three picks – First Place: Heinz Kagerer, Second Place: Linda Sakane, Third Place: Richard M. Coda.
The other finalists were Thomas M. Baker, Mike Burns, Mike Doyle, Robert Grebe, Margit Kagerer, Juan Loza, Steve Norris, Steven Patricola, Andreas Schmalz and Susan Trogan. A vertical photo by Gary Hockett was selected but not eligible for an award.
