It looked like a total wash out with the rain all around, but the chili god's said go ahead on!! So we did  – with 15 seasoned cooks with spoon's in hand – served up $800 worth chili for the Boy Scouts of America.  Great job to all the cook's and as always hat's off to June, Lori and Sharren for taking care of the judging and ME.  I don't know what I would do with out them –Thanks Ladies.

Many thanks to Marc, Kyle and sweet Suzanne for all their support for another successful event. We welcome new member Paul Hetrick!

Dolan Ellis live in concert, April 23

dolan ellisCAVE CREEK – Dolan Ellis, Arizona’s Official State Balladeer, returns to his favorite Valley of the Sun venue, Cave Creek Coffee Company (C4), on Saturday, April 23. His concert will be held in “The Camp,” with the cool spring breezes and beautiful skies. Ellis, awarded a Grammy, Gold Records and an honor in Arizona Tourism Hall of Fame, performs folk music written by Ellis himself about “Arizona people, places, and things.”

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at 6033 E. Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek.

With a distinct selection of in-house varietal coffee roasts and blends, Cave Creek Coffee Company also offers a wide selection of wine, beer, infused martini selections, and delicious food and desserts.

Veterans 2011 Annual Spring Fling

Show support for our Military Services and Veterans on Saturday, April 23 at 4 p.m.

CAVE CREEK – This is the 5th Annual Veterans Spring Fling to be held at Marc Malin’s Ranch on Spur Cross. Active Duty Military, Veterans, Local Residents, Friends and their families have been getting together each year to reminisce about their military days and to come up with new ways to support both those presently serving as well as veterans and their families. It’s an honor to welcome all U.S. and allied veterans, whether they served in combat or not. As in years past, the Veterans Spring Fling is being hosted by the “Desert Rats” – Special Forces Association, Chapter XXII – which is comprised primarily of Green Beret Veterans who live in Arizona.

The Desert Rats support many Veteran Organizations including: Wounded Warrior Project, Green Beret Foundation, Boots For Our Troops, Arizona Veterans Foundation and Special Operations Warrior Foundation. They also work with disabled children helping them to find self-worth. This year, the Desert Rats hope to raise money for such things as family lodging for those being treated at the VA Hospital as well as continuing their tradition of hosting several events and meals at the Phoenix VA Hospital and Convalescence Center to build camaraderie and boost morale. Many of the residents of the VA Hospital and Convalescence Center fought in WWII, Korea, Southeast Asia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and other conflicts. To all Veterans, thank you for your service to our country and defending the freedoms we enjoy.

RSVP by April 15 to Marc Malin: marcm@general agentcenter or to Michelle: 480-513-7676. A $10 donation is requested.
