CAVE CREEK – Dr. Jerry Howard, Ph.D. presents a newly created lecture on prehistoric Hohokam irrigation. Environmental impacts are often associated with more modern times or industrialized societies. This lecture focuses on the environmental impact of Hohokam irrigation canals/ fields, which clearly had significant impacts on their environment prehistorically.

Arizona Musicfest Putting Tournament for Scholarships and Big Apple Raffle April 26

The Arizona Musicfest Putting Tournament for Scholarships, which raises funds for Arizona Musicfest Scholarships, will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, on the 18-hole Putting Course at the beautiful Tonto Verde Golf Club in Rio Verde.

Foothills Food Bank clients receive help with their pets
Foothills Food Bank and VCA Animal Hospitals recently partnered to keep the pets of those who visit the food bank healthy. On Saturday, March 15 two veterinarians and five technicians from VCA Animal Hospitals came to Foothills Food bank to give examinations and administer shots to dogs and cats of Foothills Food Bank clients.
The clinic was free because the VCA staff volunteered their time and also worked to get donations of the necessary supplies.

The non-profit organization, which works to protect the beautiful landscape of our fragile Sonoran Desert, will once again hold the annual event at the elegant and majestic Los Cedros USA equestrian facility at 8700 E. Black Mountain Road in north Scottsdale.
