Scottsdale Civil War Round Table meets April 15
SCOTTSDALE – The Scottsdale Civil War Round Table meets on April 15 at 6:40 p.m. at the Civic Center Library (Auditorium), 3839 N. Drinkwater Blvd. in Scottsdale. Tom Cutrer will present “A Stepping Stone To A Greater Eminence: The Mexican War and the Making of George B. McClellan.” Everyone is welcome. There is no admission charge.
A prolific author, Dr. Cutrer has received awards for his books Parnassus on the Mississippi: The Southern Review and the Baton Rouge Literary Community, 1935-1942 and Ben McCulloch and the Frontier Military Tradition. His other books include Longstreet’s Aide: The Civil War Letters of Maj. Thomas J. Goree; “Our Trust is in the God of Battles”: The Civil War Letters of Robert F. Bunting, Chaplain, Eighth Texas Cavalry; The Mexican War Diary and Correspondence of George B. McClellan, and he also coedited, with T. Michael Parrish, Brothers in Gray: The Civil War Letters of the Pierson Family. He is an advisory editor of Military History of the West, published by the University of North Texas.
