CCUSD tries again

We have received two important pamphlets about upcoming elections. The first is about CCUSD once again trying to pick the public pocket. The second is for the Nov. 4 general election.

CCUSD is asking for approval to “repurpose” the use of bonds passed by voters in 2000. That bond has quite a lot of history.

Fall is in the air

We are still cleaning up and repairing from the summer storms, but in the light of the new dawn there is a forgotten, now remembered, cool crispness in the air that whispers of the glories of Cave Creek and the great Sonoran desert foothills as the fall takes us to winter; to crackling fires against the chill of night, and brilliant cool afternoons when the horses find a spring in their step. Volunteer or politician?

I write this open letter to the citizens, and in particular the voters, of Carefree, for two reasons. The first being that my many years as a resident of the town left an indelible mark on my heart and the second is to advise you to be very wary of people who want to control the destiny of Carefree by expanding their power. The Propositions before you (488 & 489) have little redeeming value to the citizens of Carefree, and that is all that matters.

The National Criminal Registry Act

The Federal gun law of 1994 is about to expire.  This law made it illegal to manufacture or own a semi-automatic weapon that would enable the user to handle and fire the weapon skillfully.  It limited the magazine capacity for these weapons while not limiting how many magazines one could own.

New Gun Control Bill introduced in Congress!

Every major piece of firearm legislation that has passed in the past three decades has taken something away from us. And now, Democrats are once again calling for an expansion of the federal government’s gun background check law!
