The driver of the BMW, pictured assessing the damage to his vehicle, said he hit the brake pedal when he noticed the motorcycle but must have also hit the gas pedal.

motorcycle accidentThat sent his vehicle right into the motorcycle, across Cave Creek Road and onto T.C. Thorstenson’s property before it finally stopped.

Rural/Metro was already transporting the driver of the motorcycle to the hospital by the time Sonoran News arrived on the scene.

Although his condition is unknown, witnesses said he was wearing a helmet and seemed to be able to move as paramedics were tending to him.

motorcycle accidentConsidering Thorstenson’s property has corral fencing along Cave Creek Road, it was curious how the BMW, which appeared to have extensive damage, ended up inside the fenced area.

The driver of the BMW, visibly shaken by the accident, said his vehicle lifted up the fence and went under it. The fence apparently landed in its original position behind him.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrived shortly thereafter to process the accident scene and interview witnesses.
