Heritage at Carefree Retirement Living earns more resident accolades
CAREFREE – There’s a consensus at the Heritage at Carefree Retirement Living. “Everyone is so nice here,” agreed nine-month residents, Dee Carter and Harold Stevens. “It’s an easy-going place,” Carter added. “It’s an extremely well-run facility,” Stevens followed up.
The Heritage has a lot of perks, one of the favorites being three good meals a day. The units - studio, one bedroom and two - do have kitchenettes so folks living there can prepare their own meals if they wish. On Wednesdays, owner Donna Holbura or one of her staff will take a group of the residents out for lunch and/or shopping in the Mercedes Sprinter. There’s weekly housekeeping and laundry service (or residents can do their own on-site).
“It’s just like home,” Carter assured, “but I don’t have to cook!” Just as having the option to cook or not to cook, retirees can bring in their own furniture or it can be supplied. Carter has adorned her walls with artwork from her late husband, Sam. Both she and Stevens display a plethora of family photos in their suites.
The Heritage is nestled in the Sonoran Desert at the corner of Pima and Cave Creek roads (36590 N. Pima Rd). The setting is tranquil and Carter loves to feed the birds. The couple enjoys strolls in the courtyard. They highly recommend life at the Heritage and even invite Holbura to show their suites (Stevens has a two bedroom ground unit, whereas Carter has the one-bed second floor unit) as model-type “homes” to seniors thinking of moving in. Floorplans run from roughly 450 to 1600 square feet and are illustrated online at www.heritagecarefree.com.
Carter and Stevens live independent lives but the Heritage at Carefree can tend to those who need assisted living or memory care. The Holbura family offers guided tours, so call 480-488-1622 if you or your loved ones are seeking retirement that resembles luxurious home-style living.
