Wellton Border Patrol agents arrest 7, seize 344 lbs. of drugs

Border Patrol agents from Wellton Station started tracking a group of individuals late yesterday and, by early today, arrested seven illegal immigrants with 344 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $172,000.

The incident took place near Interstate 8 and mile marker 91. Agents are processing all subjects and marijuana in accordance with Yuma Sector guidelines.

Yuma Sector Agents make arrests, seize cash, marijuana

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested five U.S. citizens and three illegal immigrants yesterday.  During the separate incidents, agents also seized nearly $22,000 in U.S. currency and $1,200 worth of marijuana.

Blythe Station Border Patrol agents stopped a vehicle yesterday morning on I-10 and discovered 2.4 pounds of marijuana and $21,928 in U.S. currency.  A further look at records involving the male driver, a U.S. citizen, revealed prior charges for the possession, transportation and sell of drugs, as well as disorderly conduct.  He was turned over to the Blythe Narcotics Enforcement task force.

Yesterday afternoon, Border Patrol agents arrested four male U.S. citizens and three male illegal immigrants travelling through Dome Valley in an effort to circumvent Wellton Station’s eastbound checkpoint on Interstate 8.  All subjects will be processed per Yuma Sector guidelines.
