Life jacket loaner stations debut at Lake Pleasant
New program aims to save lives and boaters from possible citation
PHOENIX – The Arizona Game and Fish Department is working to save lives by preventing drownings at Lake Pleasant with the installation of new Life Jacket Loaner Stations at the lake’s four- and 10-lane boat ramps.

Service initiates status review for four species in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) announces it is initiating status reviews for the Arizona toad, Cascade Caverns salamander, Rio Grande cooter (a turtle) and Alligator snapping turtle in response to a July 2012 petition from the Center for Biological Diversity. Today’s decision is commonly referred to as a 90-day finding.

Scottsdale DAR chapter represented at 125th DAR anniversary in Washington, DC
Scottsdale-chartered Grand Canyon Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution was represented by 12 members at the society’s 124th Continental Congress June 24-28 in DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
