Key board members added with Triple R Horse Rescue
CAVE CREEK – Ken Schaefer has been named ranch operations director for Triple R Horse Rescue, a 501(c)3 organization that rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes horses surrendered to its care.
Schaefer, a native of Pittsburgh, Penn., graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in hospitality management. While in Pittsburgh, Schaefer grew and managed a restaurant supply and equipment business for more than 12 years. Today, Schafer is a manufacturer’s representative for the hotel and restaurant industry. He has served as volunteer for Triple R Horse Rescue for three years.
Christy Leggett has been named adoption coordinator for the Triple R Horse Rescue’s board of directors. In this capacity, she is responsible for finding new homes for the organization’s horses and burros.
Triple R Horse Rescue is a 501(c)3 organization that rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes horses surrendered to its care. The organization, which is run 100 percent by volunteers, relies on support from the community to fulfill its mission. Located on three acres donated by Lil Bit North Ranch in Cave Creek, Ariz. Triple R Horse Rescue is dedicated to assisting the 175,000 unwanted horses in the United States. During the past three years, the organization has re-homed more than 100 horses.
