Ken Bennett joins effort to encourage voter registration and participation
PHOENIX – Secretary of State Ken Bennett has joined the effort to remind citizens that September is National Voter Registration Month. To encourage voter participation and increase awareness about state requirements and deadlines for voting, the nation's Secretaries of State established September as National Voter Registration Month in 2002.
To be eligible to register, a person must be a citizen of the United States, 18 or older as well as a resident of Arizona. The registration deadline for this November’s general election is October 6, 2014.
To review personal voter registration information visit: https://voter.azsos.gov/VoterView. Information on a person’s current registration status, polling place and party affiliation is available.
“Each election cycle offers the opportunity for voters to shape the future,” said Secretary Bennett. “This November is no exception. Once again, people can choose candidates they believe will advocate for the issues they feel are important. I strongly urge them to participate and exercise their most basic of American rights. The right to vote!”
