The Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities Association will host Ignite the Night, the Charities’ annual banquet and fundraiser on Saturday, September 6 at Anthem’s Ironwood Country Club. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with dinner featuring Italian fare. The Charities will recognize members and partners for their service and the 2014 Firefighter-of-the-Year will be honored.
The Charities will also raffle items generously donated by local businesses and friends of the Charities. This year’s raffle items include Disneyland tickets, a stay-cation package, a firearm, and golf packages. Tickets are just $50 each and are available at FirefightersCharities.com. All money raised will be used to help people in need within the three communities of Desert Hills, Anthem and New River.
The mission of the Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities Association, a 501c3 non-profit, is to help families in the community in a time of need. Persons helped have pressing challenges arising from illness, accidents and other tragedies. Many times they are stricken with a life changing event which negatively impacts their entire family. The Charities coordinate their work with other local charities that belong to the Network of Anthem Area Assistance Providers.
David Jensen, President of the Charities says, “Through professionalism and dedication, the Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities Association brings the highest level of integrity to the families of the Daisy Mountain Fire Department and the citizens for which we serve. The firefighters are hoping the members of the community will participate in our Ignite the Night event and enable us to help our neighbors in need.”
Over the last year, the Charities helped 21 families and supported two hospitals. Financial assistance exceeded $3,000. The Charities also provided non-financial aid included meals, toys, blankets, school supplies and clothing. This event is important to the Charities’ mission generating nearly all of Charities’ financial resources. The Charities have organized this year’s Ignite the Night to be fun while earning support for the firefighter’s goal of helping those in need in the community.
