Registration for Afterschool Programs starts June 17
Studies have found that regular participation in afterschool programs is linked to significant gains in standardized test scores and work habits as well as reductions in behavior problems. Program runs Monday-Friday from school release until 6 p.m. Program dates run concurrently with the Scottsdale Unified School District Calendar. Register for programs at Horizon, Mountain View, and Paiute centers.
Tea Party Scottsdale June Meeting
Tea Party Scottsdale will host Shane Krauser, the director of the American Academy for Constitutional Education 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 19 at Chaparral Suites (Fiesta Room), 5001 N. Scottsdale Rd. Krauser is one of the most respected, nationally renowned constitutional scholars in the country. The Scottsdale Mayor’s Youth Council is currently accepting applications for 2014-2015! In order to be considered for an interview, applicants must:
• Be a sophomore, junior or senior during the 2014-2015 school year
• Live in Scottsdale or attend a Scottsdale school
• Exhibit an interest in local government and civic responsibility
• Commit to attending all SMYC meetings and events
• Be willing to learn, participate, and have fun!
