Scottsdale Ranch Park hosts U.S. Open National tennis playoffs
Watch tennis players compete for a chance to play in the U.S. Open. Scottsdale Ranch Park will host the USTA’s Southwest U.S. Open National Playoff Championship Saturday-Tuesday, May 17-20. Playoffs include men’s and women’s singles and mixed doubles. The USTA created the playoffs to expand the footprint of the U.S. Open to cities nationwide by providing the opportunity for players 14 years and older to earn a berth into the tournament. Scottsdale Ranch Park is at 10400 E. Via Linda.
Listen to the music at free Sunday Evening Concert series
McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is the place to be for free concerts every Sunday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. through July 6. Pack a picnic, grab your lawn chairs and blankets, and come listen to a variety of favorite local bands. Train and carousel rides are available during concerts. Tickets are $2 each with children younger than 3 riding free with a paying adult. The park is at 7301 E. Indian Bend Road.

Ribbon cutting and Open House

Children invited to Wilderness Escape VBS
A summer event called “Wilderness Escape: Where God Guides and Provides” will be hosted at Desert Foothills Lutheran Church and Preschool from 9 a.m. – noon June 2 through June 6. Participants step back in time at Wilderness Escape, exploring some of the adventures faced by Moses and the Israelites.
