Tea Party Scottsdale participates in keep Scottsdale Beautiful Day 2014
Twenty five Tea Party Scottsdale volunteers spent Saturday morning, April 26, cleaning roadside trash as a part of the 2014 Keep Scottsdale Beautiful Day. After a complimentary breakfast provided by The Breakfast Club, 4400 N. Scottsdale Rd., TPS members went to work on their adopted street, Chaparral Rd. between Hayden and Pima. During the next two and a half hours, the volunteers filled 11 large plastic bags with litter and trash.
Keep Scottsdale Beautiful Day is a part of the Scottsdale Adopt-A-Road program. Volunteer groups, in coordination with the city, select a section of road and agree to pick up litter a minimum of three times each year. Tea Party Scottsdale is one of more than 100 groups participating in the program which was started in 1993 by a group of volunteers concerned about litter on the city's roadways.
