Know the signs and help save a life

Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States, killing more than 130,000 people each year. Increase a person’s chance of survival by learning these FAST signs:
F is for face. Have the person smile. If one side of the face droops call 911 immediately.
A is for arms. Ask the person to raise both arms. If one arm drifts downward, call 911 immediately.
S is for speech. Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is the speech slurred or strange? If so, call 911 immediately.
T is for time. Get the person help immediately. Critical medication needs to be administered within three hours of the first sign of stroke.
