ALL BALANCHINE
May 1- 4 at Symphony Hall with The Phoenix Symphony
See what The New York Times' leading dance critic considers "among the most significant" ballet companies to present work of legendary choreographer George Balanchine.
The three works on this season's ALL BALANCHINE program - from the frisky cowgirls and lonesome cowpokes in Western Symphony, to the feminine charm and passion of Walpurgisnacht, to the most avant-garde of Balanchine's work, Episodes – are a compelling collection of ballet's possibilities.
Ballet Arizona's Artistic Director Ib Andersen is a one of the few remaining direct links to Balanchine, dancing as the legend's protégé when he joined New York City Ballet in 1980. Given his virtuosity and close work with the master, Andersen is now one of a handful of artists worldwide authorized by The Balanchine Trust to stage Balanchine's masterpieces.
Great seats still available.
