Successful Anthem Giving Circle Fund Raising Event Raise Money to Help Families in Need
Anthem Giving Circle is grateful for the support of all those who participated in its 4th annual Purses for a Purpose event on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. The Anthem Giving Circle raised $18,000 to benefit those in need in the Anthem Community.
Joan Zimmer, Chair for the event, says “Our Giving Circle members worked hard to host the Purses for a Purpose event. We exceeded our expectations thanks to the support of the attendees who really engaged in the auction and made the event a great success to support local families. The money raised when added to the generous giving of our members is needed by so many in our community. Our Giving Circle enables us to feel personally involved and connected with others.”
The popular annual Purses for a Purpose event featured lunch and a silent auction of fabulous purses. Over 150 participants at the event held at Ironwood Country Club, Anthem, Arizona, bid on new or gently loved purses that are generously donated by Anthem residents. The women attending bid on 96 fabulous purses while many more bought raffle tickets for the Jimmy Choo purse. The Anthem Giving Circle uses all of the proceeds to help Anthem area individuals and families who need financial assistance for medical bills and other urgent needs. In 2013, Anthem Giving Circle helped more than 70 families directly as well as provided financial support to the Foothills Food Bank and the Anthem Schools.
The Anthem Giving Circle is a social non-profit group that contributes money to neighbors in need. Members of the Giving Circle pool their time, talents, and monetary resources to impact a specific need in the Anthem community. The goal of its members is to make a difference in the Anthem community by connecting with those in need and to have fun while doing it.
Founded in 2007, the members of the Anthem Giving Circle meet monthly at the homes of its members. They discuss the needs of the community and ways to provide aid to those in need.
