Go beyond the game – explore the Cactus League Legacy Trail
From the Buckhorn Baths to Ernie Banks and Buster Posey, Arizona’s Cactus League has a history steeped in sun, fun, phenoms and Hall of Famers. That colorful past comes to life on the Cactus League Legacy Trail, a self-guided tour of 12 Valley venues that highlight the rich history and culture of Arizona spring training baseball. Scottsdale stops along the trail include the Coach House Tavern, Sugar Bowl, Don and Charlie’s, The Italian Grotto, Karsen’s Grill, the Pink Pony, the Scottsdale Historical Museum and Scottsdale Stadium. Each stop has a unique story and/or memorabilia collection.
Make a positive difference for residents in assisted living and nursing homes– volunteer
The Ombudsman program at Area Agency on Aging, Region One is seeking volunteers to serve as advocates for individuals residing in assisted living and nursing homes in Maricopa County. Ombudsman volunteers help to ensure that the best possible quality of life and care is obtained by protecting the rights of long term care residents. An initial comprehensive and in-the-field training is conducted as well as eight hours of continued training provided annually. Share some time and make a real difference in someone’s life. Run the Runway offers “plane” old fun
Take off for a morning run at the Run the Runway 5k, 10k and Kids 1-Mile Mascot Dash on Saturday, April 5. Participants will run on the Scottsdale Airport runway while being surrounded by beautiful planes and entertainment along this one-of-a-kind route. Post-race festivities will include bounce inflatables, a DJ, vendors, interactive activities for kids, photo opportunities with planes, awards, and much more!

Get set for fantastic food and entertainment at the 36th annual Scottsdale Culinary Festival. This year’s event brings another round of the nation’s longest running food festival to several delicious Scottsdale locations April 8-13. Expert chefs, scrumptious food creations and enthralling entertainment are all part of the mix, culminating with the Great Arizona Picnic on the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall April 12-13.
