Morrissey announces run for Senate
Former Arizona GOP State Chairman Tom Morrissey announced on Wednesday that he has decided to run for State Senate in Legislative District 18.
Tom’s long history of achievements include 20 years as a U.S. Marshal and 11 years as the Chief of the Office of Special Investigations (OSI) for DES before being elected to the top Republican position in the state. Tom recently added author to his list of accomplishments by having three novels published to date.
A true reluctant servant Tom’s decision to run for office is a direct response to the overwhelming number of people clamoring for a voice. The people believe Tom to be a true citizen legislator who will restore representation to the district and return control of the government to the people.
Tom says he wants “to help reinstate the concept that elected officials work for those who elected them and not the opposite.” Tom has lived in the district since 1994 and been very active in the community as well as the Republican Party where he has worked side-by-side with like-minded people including serving as the Legislative District Chairman.
“If elected to the state senate, I promise to abide by the will of the people who elected me. It is my feeling that if we are not happy with the direction of our country, then it is the duty of all to do whatever we can to change it. This is me doing my part.”
Tom filed his committee on Tuesday, Jan. 21 for State Senate Legislative District 18.
