Foothills Community Foundation taps Chris Winger as new President and CEO
SCOTTSDALE – The Foothills Community Foundation (FCF), a 501(c)3 umbrella organization supporting six cultural, education and community outreach programs in Scottsdale, Cave Creek and Carefree, announced the appointment of Chris Winger as president and CEO, effective full-time today, July 1, 2013.

Cactus Shadows High School senior Mackenzie Brown among 48 top Arizona students in UA science labs this summer
TUCSON – Mackenzie Brown, a senior at Cactus Shadows High School in Scottsdale, is one of 48 interns enrolled in a seven-week summer science program at the University of Arizona in Tucson. The KEYS (Keep Engaging Youth in Science) program began June 3, runs through July 19, and includes students from 24 high schools.

Grants available to expand participation in hunting, fishing, shooting sports and trapping
PHOENIX – Local sportsmen’s groups can apply now for grant funding for programs that promote activities and events for hunter, angler, shooter and trapper recruitment and retention. The Arizona Game and Fish Department is offering $75,000 in grant funding this year.
