Summer Flute Choir Concert: July 25

The Paradise Valley Community College Flute Choir is celebrating its 20th season this summer! Nancy Sowers founded and led the group for the first 15 years beginning in the Spring of 1994. Today, the group continues to present fun and thoughtful programs throughout the year under the direction of Lee Chivers.

This summer, they’re celebrating in several special ways. First, they’ll be featuring Nancy Sowers and Karen Merry, fellow founder of the group, in two works: Mike Garson’s Fanfare for a New Beginning, and Vivaldi’s Concerto for 2 flutes in C major. There will be a fun “surprise” work honoring each members’ length of service in the group. Concluding the concert will be a special piece for which we invite anyone who’s participated in the group over the last 20 years to come join in. College Center for the Performing Arts, Thursday, July 25, 7:30 pm. Admission is free.
