Railroad Park concert continues with Cold Shott and the Hurricanes
Listen to Cold Shott and the Hurricanes at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park's free Sunday concert. The event runs from 7:30 to 9 p.m., June 30, at the park, 7301 E. Indian Bend Road. Bring a blanket or chair and hear a variety of favorite local bands. Train and carousel rides are available during all concerts. Tickets are $2 each and children younger than three ride free with a paying adult. Food will also be available for purchase. Concerts run through July 7. Scottsdale's newly-named city manager earns national county leader award
Scottsdale's newly-named city manager Fritz Behring has been named the "2013 County Leader of the Year" by American City and County magazine. He has served as the Pinal County Manager since November 2010 and starts his Scottsdale job on Monday, July 1. Behring was applauded for balancing the county's budget without instituting a tax hike. He also launched a new website, which received an A+ rating from the Sunshine Review for its transparency, supervised the reconstruction of the 1891 historic courthouse, initiated an inclusive budget process and overhauled the performance management system to better align it with county goals.
