Marketing funds available to assist Scottsdale tourism events
Producers of tourism-driven events in Scottsdale are invited to apply for marketing support funding from the city.
The Tiered Support Funding Program is designed to support events that promote Scottsdale as an upscale leisure and meeting destination.
Applicants seeking Tiered Support Funding must meet all of the following criteria to be considered:
The events must support tourism activities that attract visitors to Scottsdale. These event “drivers” include: art and culture; culinary; golf; sports and recreation; and Western.
The events must provide exposure outside of Maricopa County and enhance Scottsdale’s attractiveness as a destination to upscale resort visitors.
The events must generate room nights in Scottsdale hotels.
To receive an application or to get more information, contact the City’s Economic Development Office at 480-312-7989. Information is also available at www.scottsdaleaz.gov/economics under the “Tourism” section.
Applications must be received by June 24.
The city’s Tourism Development Commission will evaluate applications this summer and may require presentations by qualified event producers. The commission will make recommendations to the City Council in late summer. The City Council is scheduled to consider recommendations in the fall.
