phoenix symphonyPHOENIX -The Phoenix Symphony is proud to announce that it has made $1,000,000 in ticket sales through online transactions, making online ticket sales account for nearly 60 percent of overall sales for the 2012/13 season. The sale that resulted in that goal being met was a transaction for four tickets to see The Midtown Men with The Phoenix Symphony in October.

The Symphony made live single ticket sales available online in 2006. From 2006 – 2010, online sales accounted for only 30 percent of all ticket transactions. In 2010, global marketing executive Jim Ward took over as President & CEO of The Phoenix Symphony and oversaw a complete re-branding and comprehensive overhaul of the Symphony organization and its website design and utilization. This overhaul was done in partnership with Integrated Web Strategy (IWS), a Phoenix-based national ad agency specializing in integrating social media, email and online marketing along with more traditional advertising campaigns, working with well-known retail companies, national trade association and non-profits.

Since the beginning of the Symphony’s partnership with IWS, they have taken over primary design and maintenance of the Symphony website, completing the comprehensive website design overhaul in August of 2011 which improved the overall look, feel and usability of the site. Thanks to this partnership, the Symphony’s web sales now account for nearly 60 percent of all transactions and web traffic has increased by nearly 40 percent. Single ticket, subscription packages, donations and gift certificate transactions are all now available online.

”Each year the symphony invests in improving our website and online ticketing platforms and thanks to that investment our website has been highlighted by the League of American Orchestras as a leading website in the industry today,” Said Jim Ward, President & CEO of The Phoenix Symphony. “A special thanks to IWS for helping us better deliver services to our patrons and for recognizing the Symphony’s role as a part of what makes Arizona thrive.”
