CAVE CREEK – Cave Creek Pro Rodeo President Traci Casale provided council with a recap of the Cave Creek Fiesta Days Rodeo (CCFDR) during Monday night’s meeting said the event drew more than 300 entries this year.
She contrasted this year’s event to the 2011 CCFDR, which she said got rained out, was almost broke and was robbed of all its property.
Casale called the 2012 CCFDR a huge success and attributed that success to the change in stock contractors, focus on producing a professional rodeo, marketing and branding the event as a pro rodeo, utilizing social media and media partners.
Stating this year’s event was even more successful than last year’s, Casale attributed it to perfect weather, record attendance, amazing stock, increasing the amount of the purse, and 306 contestant entries, including at least 13 NFR (National Finals Rodeo) qualifiers, contestants or champions.
Casale said additional seating and parking plus improved lighting are three priorities key to the success of the 2014 CCFDR, which she said was tentatively set for March 28-30.
She read the Post Rodeo Report from Judge Mike Jones, who stated, “I believe the Cave Creek rodeo is on the grow and look forward to working there again.”
