SCOTTSDALE – Desert Stages Theatre presents the comically fabulous, Legally Blonde, Fri., April 12 – Sat., May 11.
The blonde and beautiful Elle Woods has the world on a string until her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her. A demolished-turned-determined Elle emerges on a mission, and follows him to Harvard Law School to win back his heart. The flamboyant character surprises many along the way, and discovers a newfound confidence, self-respect and the triumph of productive brainpower over revenge.
Directed and choreographed by Katrina M Sanders, with music direction by Alexander Tom, Legally Blonde’s promising cast includes Brittany Howk portraying the surprising Elle Woods; Nic Bryan playing the prince charming gone astray, Warner Huntington III; Andy Albrecht as the intelligent and intriguing Emmett Forrest; Mallory Briancesco portraying the “other woman” and Elle’s new enemy, Vivienne Kensington; Mark Hackmann playing professor Callahan; and Audra Nelson as Elle’s newest BFF, Paulette Buonufonte. The show wouldn’t be complete without a girl’s best friend; the cast also includes cuddly pooches playing Bruiser Woods (Elle’s sidekick Chihuahua) and Rufus (Paulette’s adored pup).
