Second Annual Phoenix Police/Phoenix Law Enforcement Association
“Shop With A Cop” Event Dec. 18
PHOENIX – The second annual Shop With a Cop event will take place on Dec. 18, 2012 at the Target Store in Chris-Town. Phoenix Police Officers and members of the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (PLEA) will donate their time and money in an effort to make a positive difference in the lives of Phoenix youth. In this year’s Phoenix Police Officer’s/Phoenix Law Enforcement Association “Shop With A Cop” event, Officers will take more than 30 Phoenix children from all over the city shopping for Christmas. The children will be selected by Phoenix Police Community Action officers, School Resource Officers, or other Phoenix Police Patrol Officers.
PLEA President Joe Clure said, “Phoenix Police Officers see so much throughout the year with children who are less fortunate or not in the best of circumstances. This is yet another opportunity Phoenix Police Officers take to give back to their community while helping to form a positive police image for our kids and let them know that we care.”
The event will begin at 6:30 a.m. with breakfast, after which the kids will meet “Blue Santa Claus”. The kids, accompanied by their Phoenix Police Officer, will then shop the Target store at 5719 N 19th Ave., where they will shop for clothes, shoes, and toys with up to $200.
This is the second annual Phoenix Police Officer/Phoenix Law Enforcement Association “Shop With A Cop” event and would not be possible without the generous donations of our sponsors including, Target, The Phoenix Law Enforcement Association/PLEA Charities, Phoenix Police Chiefs and Commanders, and supporters like you! If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, contributions can be sent to PLEA, 1102 W. Adams St. Phoenix AZ 85007. For further information please contact Joe Clure at 602-246-7869.
