Rural/Metro Fire Department is proud to join Southwest Ambulance in this year’s Operation Gratitude candy drive
MESA – Wondering what to do with your left over candy, or do you want to show support for your troops deployed overseas? For the first time Rural/Metro Fire Department will be teaming up with Southwest Ambulance as part of their annual candy drive in support of Operation Gratitude. The public is welcome to drop off candy at the participating fire stations listed below. Last year Southwest Ambulance collected over 3,000 pounds of candy. “With the participation of our fire stations spread across Maricopa and Pinal County we are hoping to double last year’s amount” Fire Chief Dan Caudle said recently. He went onto say, “This is an easy and meaningful way for people to show support for our brave men and women in the armed services.”
All of the collected candy will be sorted, weighed and shipped from the Southwest Ambulance headquarters to a distribution station in Van Nuys, California, then on to troops overseas.
