Dreamchaser Horse Rescue hosting Fall Festival at ranch

Dreamchaser Horse Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, is hosting a Cowboy Picnic on October 27, at their ranch located at 48019 N. 7th Ave., New River, AZ 85087.  The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature live music by Sonic Praize, a bake sale, silent auction, raffle, carnival games, costume contest, and hay rides.  This is a family-friendly event where you will be able to take a pony ride for $5 or visit their petting zoo for $3.  Cost of event, which includes BBQ lunch, chips, and beverage is $10 for Adults, $5 for Children under 12, and free for Children 4 and under.

This event is run in conjunction with Make A Difference Day where volunteers will be coming out to help make this event a success.  Volunteers can sign up through the Make a Difference Day website by October 20.  They have a need for game operators, runners, parking lot security, cooks, food servers, pony rides and petting zoo attendants.

Dreamchaser Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation is an unusual rescue facility located in New River, AZ. They have saved hundreds of horses from slaughter, abandonment, and abuse.  All our horses arrive basically wild. They work diligently to gentle these horses, train them, turn them into cooperative and willing participants in our programs, and adopt them into their forever homes.

The programs benefit the animals they rescue, at-risk children, and teens and adults in need of community service hours.  These programs are win-win for the animals receiving the attention they deserve and subsequently enriching the lives of the people they touch. Children are instilled with faith, hope, trust, confidence, self-esteem, respect, a strong work-ethic, interpersonal and relational skills, and experience with horses.

Dreamchaser’s operating and horse-related expenses average $10,000-$12,000 per month and fundraising events such as this are one of their main sources of income.  All proceeds from this event will benefit the animals at Dreamchaser Horse Rescue.  Hope to see you there!
