National effort launched: Five Democratic Senators And One Republican Congressman Under Fire for "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Votes

"Full disclosure” demanded of any meetings with “Left Wing pressure groups."

RALEIGH, N.C. – Accusing lawmakers of letting down our troops in a time of war,  "Defending The Force"  – a group describing itself as "a pro military and national security oriented educational foundation" – launched this week a radio spot campaign directed at five Democratic senators and one Republican Congressman.  The group is demanding that the six lawmakers – who voted in the lame duck session of Congress in 2010 to repeal the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" rule which restricted open expression of homosexuality in the armed forces – make "full disclosure" to their constituents about any meetings or contacts with "left-wing pressure groups that were pushing this agenda."

"This is the beginning of what we hope will be total informational awareness of other national security organizations and veterans groups," said C. Edmund Wright, the group's spokesman.
Wright added: "These Senators and this one Congressman knew about a Marine Commandant saying their vote would cost the lives of Marines; they knew about a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff saying their "yes" vote could break the military. They knew about three sitting service chiefs saying this was a terrible idea. They had statistics from a Pentagon survey showing almost 40 per cent of Marines said they would leave or consider leaving early and 25 percent of the Army saying the same if this policy was changed."

"Why in the world would these politicians who always love to have their pictures taken with the troops and talk about how pro military they are let the troops down just when it really counted?  The truth is this:  Instead of supporting the military, they couldn't wait to do President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi a favor in the last days of their full power over Congress."

"President Obama and Nancy Pelosi had been decisively repudiated in the 2010 election, yet a few days later these six lawmakers sided with President Obama and Nancy Pelosi to conduct a social experiment and weaken the military."

Wright observed, "President Obama has targeted everything that works in America and reflects traditional values: small business owners, doctors, and now the military.  How many dedicated young soldiers have left or are thinking of leaving the military thanks to the votes cast by these six lawmakers?  With their votes, these six lawmakers are aiding and abetting Obama's radical agenda."

Wright said the group's radio ads are now playing in drive time.

He said, "phase one is letting people know about these votes."

In phase two, "We are going to demand accountability and answers to questions."

Members of Congress, he said, would be asked to answer these questions:
"Did they or any members of their staff meet with representatives of left wing pressure groups on this issue?  Did they receive donations from such groups?"

"Were they promised support if they would go along with the Obama agenda to "break the military" and jeopardize the "lives" of Marines?

And remember. Those aren't our words. Those are the words of the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and former Marine Commandant."

Title: DADT Flake

When the U.S. military needed help from Representative Jeff Flake, he wasn't there for our troops. Instead, Flake was one of a tiny few Republicans who voted to overturn  "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" that restricts the expression of homosexuality in the military.

You should know how much damage Jeff Flake's vote will do to our military in this time of war.
In a survey, almost 40 percent of Marines and 25 percent of the Army said they would either leave the service or think about leaving early. A former Joint Chiefs Chairman said it could "break" America's combat arms. The Marine commandant states bluntly that overturning this policy will cost the lives of U.S. Marines.

This is part of a systematic attack by some who dislike traditional values on organized religion, biblical morality, and military culture.

Call Jeff Flake. And ask him why he wouldn't defend our troops against the far left liberals who want to break our military.

Defending the Force (www.DefendingTheForce.com) is a new advocacy initiative of the America Foundation. It focuses on asking the following national security question of six members of Congress who voted for repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell": "Why did you ignore the advice of military commanders and side with President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and elitist left wing lobby groups to weaken our Armed Services?" The six lawmakers are Jeff Flake (R-AZ), John Tester (D-MT), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Bob Casey (D-PA), Claire McCaskill (D-MO), and Bill Nelson (D-FL).)
