Art Incentive Bags for Celebration of the Arts

More than 90 students to be honored;  2012 Art Stuff Sale March 8

The Sonoran Arts League will present 90+ Incentive Bags filled with age appropriate art supplies and art books on April 5th at the Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center at the Celebration of the Arts program.  The bags are canvas and we are hoping that the students will decorate them with some of the special bag supplies such as fabric crayons, fabric markers or acrylic paint.  Photos of the decorated bags will be posted on our website this summer!

Each art teacher in the Cave Creek Unified School District is asked to pick 10 students every year who show outstanding enthusiasm and aptitude towards visual arts.  The top student from each school will receive a gift certificate.  We are hoping to include students from private and charter schools. Robin Ray launched the Incentive Bag program.

The Sonoran Arts League also grants scholarships, hosts a yearly tour of major area art museums, and provides a bus for high school artists to attend our annual Hidden in the Hills Studio Tour.  They also mentor students throughout the year.

The Art Stuff Sale on March 8 at 7162 E. Stevens Rd, Cave Creek at 8 a.m. will help support the SAL YouthArt programs.  Donations can be made before March 7.  Call Judy at 480-437-9995.
