Be a "Wildlife Keeper for the Day"
A bald eagle, bobcat, ringtail, birds and reptiles …What better live shot, video or photo op can you find for your upcoming news story? The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center will be hosting a free open house for the public on Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Nov. 20 from 10-3 p.m. daily.
During this rare glimpse into the center’s operations, visitors will have the opportunity to see wildlife up close, view educational displays and meet wildlife experts. Admission and parking for the open house are free, and food will be available for purchase.
Come be a “Wildlife Keeper for the Day” and learn to be a bird handler (and hold a bird) and participate in a wildlife medical exam. Media can also preview or cover the event, and talk to the rehabilitators that treat more than 1,000 sick and injured animals annually and provide wildlife education at events and schools across the state, reaching more than 100,000 Arizonans a year.
Founded in 1983, the Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center is a wildlife triage, treatment and rehabilitation facility operated by Game and Fish in cooperation with the nonprofit Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center Auxiliary.
Event: Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
