CAREFREE – With Councilman Bob Gemmill recusing himself, Town Administrator/Planning Director Gary Neiss and Assistant Planner DJ Stapley presented text amendments to the sign ordinance during the Jan. 5 town council meeting.

CAREFREE – Topics for discussion during the Jan. 5 Carefree Water Company board meeting included a Dec. 4, 2009 demand for payment letter from Attorney Alexandra Hicks of Ryley Carlock & Applewhite, on behalf of David A. Birdsell, the Chapter 7 trustee of the Carefree Mule Train Ventures, LLC bankruptcy estate, which operated Carefree Resort & Villas, commonly referred to locally as the Carefree Inn.

CAREFREE – Last week, a number of Carefree residents, including a few attorneys, called Sonoran News complaining about a Jan. 4, 2010 letter they received on official town of Carefree letterhead, addressed to “Citizens of Carefree” regarding the “State of Our Town,” signed by Mayor David Schwan.
Waring takes up the entire ‘Senators Section’

CAVE CREEK – Sen. Jim Waring, R-Dist. 7, known to make early appearances at Cave Creek Town Council meetings, often asked to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and then disappear shortly thereafter, had an entire section of the council chambers to himself during the short, sparsely-attended council meeting on Monday. Someone jokingly dubbed where he was seated the “Senators Section.”
