CAVE CREEK – For the past 13 years Foothills Animal Rescue (FAR), a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been providing shelter, care and adoption services for thousands of domestic cats and dogs that are stray, abandoned or become lost each year.

Judge in quandary over right to challenge and ballot-printing deadline
PHOENIX – Last Thursday, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Edward O. Burke granted the Arizona Civil Rights Initiative (AzCRI), otherwise known as Proposition 104, a temporary restraining order to halt the printing of ballots and publicity pamphlets for Arizona’s Nov. 4 General Election.

SCOTTSDALE – Early primary election totals indicate there could be a major shake-up in Scottsdale City government. City Councilman Jim Lane was leading Mayor Mary Manross by the slimmest of margins in his bid to become the next mayor of Scottsdale in the Sept. 2 primary, according to early (unofficial) totals.
