Foothills Caring Corps provides a beacon of hope

The Foothills Caring Corps continues to empower aging in place with more than 23 years of service in Carefree, Cave Creek and surrounding communities
“We are immensely grateful for the tireless dedication of our volunteers, the unwavering support of our donors, and the invaluable partnerships we’ve forged within the community,” said Brent Downs, Executive Director of the agency.

The Foothills Caring Corps, a steadfast pillar in the Carefree, Cave Creek and surrounding areas, celebrates more than two decades of unwavering dedication to empowering neighbors to age in place with dignity, safety, and independence.

For more than 23 years, the Foothills Caring Corps, a 501(c)(3) has been a beacon of hope, providing essential services and fostering a sense of belonging among aging residents choosing to remain in their homes.

Through its volunteer force, the agency provides a variety of invaluable, vital services, ranging from home-delivered mobile meals to nonemergency medical transportation, friendly visits, handyman assistance, and access to a recreational van program and Mobility Loan closet, all of which have become lifelines for many.

Last year, the agency’s devoted volunteers extended more than 28,000 touchpoints to individuals across the Foothills community including 3,327 recreational van trips, 20,130 mobile meals, 2,955 non-emergency medical trips, and served more than 1,150 individuals from their mobility loan closet.
With each passing day, the demand for these indispensable services continues to grow. The Foothills Caring Corps is steadfast in its commitment to meeting this increasing need.

“Our mission goes beyond providing transactional services; it’s about creating a community where every individual feels valued and supported,” says Downs.

“We are immensely grateful for the tireless dedication of our volunteers, the unwavering support of our donors, and the invaluable partnerships we’ve forged within the community.”

The Foothills Caring Corps invites neighbors, volunteers, supporters, and community partners to join us in their mission.

Whether through volunteering time or offering financial support, every contribution makes a meaningful difference in the lives of neighbors.

“We have neighbors, volunteers, and supporters from your neighborhood and we are hopeful that you’ll join them in making a difference,” adds Melanie Campbell, Director of Community Impact.
