Kelly Kim Peterson: 1961 – 2024

We are sad to announce the peaceful passing of Kelly Kim Peterson, age 62, of Cave Creek, Arizona on February 10, 2024. Her passing was sudden with her family and loved ones by her side.

Kelly was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on 11/26/1961 and grew up in Owasso, Oklahoma. Her life encompassed a lively and loving childhood growing up with her mom, dad and 3 brothers. She was a feisty, sassy, carefree, cowgirl who became a cheerleader and also played the flute in the award winning high school marching band. Upon graduation she bought a white Trans Am and moved into her own apartment with a passion for music, motorcyles and making things happen!

She met her future husband at University of Tulsa, they relocated to Connecticut and were married in early 1987. Later that year they were thrilled to welcome their first son. As they settled in Brookfield, Kelly worked as an accountant and was excited to welcome their second son in 1993. The family thrived on the east coast but eventually relocated back to Tulsa where they raised their boys in a beautiful home and lived close to the Pickerill family.

After her boys grew up, her life morphed into a new beginning in Phoenix, Arizona where she bonded with her west coast family, loved sipping martinis with her new friends, found the job of her dreams and settled in Cave Creek with a loving partner who watched over her as they shared a happy life together.

Kelly was predeceased 2 years prior by her mom, Patty Pickerill, who is comforted now that she and Kelly are sweetly reunited in the afterlife. Kelly is survived by her father Jerry Pickerill, brothers Scott, Patrick and Michael Pickerill, sons Eric and Alec, daughter-in-law Shelby, grandson Jasper, partner Tom Reali, friend and ex-husband Bob Peterson, sister-in-law Holly Peterson, loyal and caring bosses Bob and DJ Jenkins, as well as dozens of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She will be laid to rest in Parsons, Kansas alongside her mother and a celebration of life will be held in her honor at the American Legion in Cave Creek, AZ at a time TBD in the near future.
