Is “Modern Medicine” enough?

Dr Leisa

I’m not so sure, according to the results some of my patients report to me as they’re sharing their disappointment with the outcome of their surgeries, rehab, and many basic treatments. It seems that “Modern Medicine” is not as modern as we think it should be in this day and age, if patients are consistently seeking out alternatives once their treatments have left them disappointed. Today, I’ll share the prelude to an open, honest discussion I would like to invite my readers to participate in the next week.

A colleague of mine on the East Coast has had asthma symptoms since childhood. He’s been hospitalized numerous times, uses an inhaler, takes steroidal medications, and more. He also suffered COVID during the pandemic, and this has made his symptoms worse despite trying things that “Modern Medicine” offered that did not work. He travels for work, and frequently uses many forms of transportation, including planes, buses, and trains exposing him to many pathogens. Just recently, he was hospitalized on a business trip, and his asthma was not responding to the traditional asthma treatments he has been receiving since childhood. As a last resort, he decided to try a ‘newer’ regenerative therapy. He nebulized an HCT product, and although this was only 2 weeks ago, his symptoms have still been reduced dramatically. Right now, this is considered by many to be experimental, but it has finally changed this man’s life for the better without further hospitalizations or serious medications.

My question to you, my readers, is what is your experience with regenerative therapies with asthma, COPD, Long COVID, or any other respiratory conditions? I want to hear from you. I would also like to hear how long you’ve had these conditions, and what “Modern Medicine” has been doing to resolve your condition, not just manage it for a lifetime. Patients go to a doctor for the best treatment that will resolve their condition. Over the last 29 years in practice, I see that patients’ frustration is mainly as a result of having to “live” with the symptoms, and are sometimes trapped into heavy medical protocols that do not resolve their symptoms, and in many cases, make them worse. I personally know medical doctors who have left large medical hospitals, as they say that the hospitals continue to keep sick people sick. That is a sad statement, as all of us, as physicians, took an oath to do no harm.

We want to help the best we can, however with bureaucracy and regulatory protocols, many of the patients do not get better, nor do many of them actually feel better.

Typically, I write one-sided articles, because I’ve done this for so long, and I truly want to give you “The Other Side of Your Health Story”. At this point, I feel we need to have this open discussion. I want to know how you have possibly had any conditions resolved or at least greatly diminished with alternative therapies. I would also like to discuss any frustrations you may have regarding any long-term treatments you’ve been receiving, and what is NOT happening.

I’m inviting the first 15 readers who RSVP to my office to join me in this discussion on February 13 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Please feel free to share this with others who may not receive this newspaper and invite them to join us as well. RSVP by Monday, February 12. My office phone number and address is at the bottom of this article. Please call to RSVP, not email please. It will be a fun and informative evening, regardless if you haven’t had any experience with alternative therapies for your serious conditions. I look forward to meeting you and having a well-needed discussion on this topic.
