Something for everyone

It was a busy night at the regular, Monday, July 17 meeting of the Cave Creek Town Council.

While “no action” reports were included, the inherant problems with noise, AirBNBs, traffic/pedestrian safety, water (drought management) and property issues provided no easy solutions, both from members of council and public speakers.

“Short Term Rental Public Health and Safety Protections” comprised several places on the agenda and included the difficulty of issuing violations, forfeiting permits and in particular, the difference between an on-site owner and an out-of-state owner/investor.

Define “noise.” Not an easy task and requires professional applications.

Pedestrian safety continues to be a work-in-progress as priorities focus primarily on vehicle numbers, speed, crosswalks, speed bumps, enforcement, etc.
Notable expenditure:

  • Approved the purchase a Public Works Utility Vehicle and a Wastewater Service Vehicle as part of the General Fund Fleet Replacement Program, for an amount up to $195,000.00.
