Vote Yes for Lower Risk

Although no one, including me, likes the idea of a tax increase, in the case of the property tax to bring Automatic Aid to Carefree I will be voting Yes. In the past Carefree has been well served by the great first responders of Rural Metro, but times have changed. We are no longer as safe as we were because the cities around that we have always relied on to help us out when our first responders need assistance with EMT calls or fires have pulled out of the Mutual Aid system.

This puts our health and homes at risk. When it comes to my health and the  health of my family and the protection of my home, I do not want to take the risk that timely assistance will not be available. Just like the insurance I have on my home, I look at the amount I would pay for Carefree being in the Automatic Aid system as a good investment. If the property tax is voted down, I sure hope that no one loses their life or their home due to long EMT response times or lack of assistance in a fire.
