In response to John Traynor’s “80% Have No Say.” Mr Traynor was among the 100% of Carefree Residents who had the opportunity to vote in the last Mayoral election. I would guess that a significant number of the 500+ Carefree Residents on Cave Creek Water voted for Les Peterson in part or specifically for his stance on bringing Carefree water to ALL Carefree Residents. You elect officials and then let them govern.
If you don’t like their performance, you vote them out. Many issues are far to complex to make them ballot referendums to be decided with only cursory information. Fire Protection will be the next significant issue that needs to be addressed. It is also a complex issue that takes a comprehensive evaluation of the various options. Les Peterson ran on a platform that included this water project. Then he proceeded to do exactly what he had promised. What a novel idea! I look forward to having access to the same quality water that Mr. Traynor currently enjoys.
