Cave Creek Unified School District is proud to announce our newest National Board Certified
Teachers!  National Board Certification is a voluntary advanced teaching credential that complements a state’s teacher license. It is valid for 5 years, after which NBCTs can seek certification renewal.  Only 3% of teachers in the United States are National Board Certified.  In Cave Creek, our percentage is 8%, double the national percentage.

Mrs. Dee Pipitone, Special Education Teacher at Lone Mountain Elementary School, achieved National Board Certification in the area of Exceptional Needs Specialist.

Mrs. Corrie Klinefelter, School Counselor at Cactus Shadows High School achieved National Board Certification in the area of School Counseling.

Mrs. Christine Huguley, 2nd Grade Teacher at Desert Sun Academy, achieved National Board Certification in the area of Early Child Generalist.

Currently, CCUSD has 3 more National Board Candidates working toward their certification with several more ready to investigate the process through our Pre-Candidacy course. We could not be prouder of the hard work and commitment of our new NBCTs, as well as all of our 20 NBCTs.  Needless to say, Cave Creek Unified teachers put students first, and are committed to excellence in their classrooms.  Dr. Debbi Burdick, Superintendent of CCUSD, has been a long standing advocate of National Board Certification, and is very proud of the teachers in CCUSD!
