Youth Agree – The U.S. should not be the world’s police

WASHINGTON, D.C.- In case you missed it, Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) President, Cliff Maloney Jr. appeared on PBS ‘Third Rail with OZY’ to dissect the question, “Should the U.S. be the World’s Police?” Maloney spoke on behalf of millennials, a majority of whom oppose unconstitutional intervention abroad.

Throughout the broadcast, PBS conducted a live poll that found 61 percent of Americans agree with Maloney. Before entering other nations, as a humanitarian effort or a military mission, we must ask ourselves if this mission is vital for protecting America’s national interests and the interests of America’s allies. We cannot afford to be the world’s policeman.

“With over $20 trillion in national debt, it is unsustainable to continue policing and nation-building abroad. We should instead focus on our own needs here at home. The United States is the strongest military power in the world. But that military power should only be used in order to defend our homeland, maintain our national security, and protect our cherished freedoms,” said YAL president Cliff Maloney Jr.
