Mule Deer Foundation Hires Robert Weekes as Director of Marketing and Development

The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) announced today that Robert Weekes, former Chief Marketing Officer for USA Shooting, will be joining the organization as its new Director of Marketing and Development. Weekes brings over 30 years of experience with major corporations and non-profit sports organizations and has led USA Shooting’s USA Shooting strategic marketing and fundraising efforts for the past two years.

“We are so fortunate to have someone of Rob’s caliber joining our team and we know that he will make important contributions to the Mule Deer Foundation as we continue to grow,” commented Miles Moretti, MDF’s President/CEO. “Rob not only has vast marketing experience in the publishing industry and has led development efforts for non-profit organizations, but he also has a passion for mule deer. It’s a rare combination that we know will benefit our organization for years to come.”

Weekes’ has been a small-business owner and he has served in corporate roles in advertising and sales for Car and Driver, America Online and The New York Times Sports and Leisure Magazine Group. He worked for both USA Shooting and US Fencing helping these organizations build their corporate giving and brand awareness. Weekes graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and Science and he also holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Denver University.

Weekes will be relocating to the Salt Lake area where he will work from the MDF offices; his tenure with MDF starts on December 5.
