One of the desert’s fast-moving critters

zebra-tailed lizard
The Zebra-tailed Lizard is a fast-running inhabitant of the Sonoran Desert, with a preference for flat areas with sparse scrub brush in which to make a quick and unimpeded getaway. They can often be seen running with their striped tail in the air or doing other lizard-like things such as push-ups. This male was making itself appear larger to possibly fend off the photographer’s pickup truck.
