Council to interview all applicants Aug. 3
CAREFREE – The Town of Carefree is currently seeking applications for Planning and Zoning and Subdivision Committee positions.

There are nine positions available, seven on P&Z and two on the Subdivision Committee.

The town has changed the selection process for the two committees this year. In past years, a selection committee interviewed and selected new committee members. This year committee applicants must appear before the full town council, which will appoint the new members, at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3. All applicants will be asked to make a statement about why they are seeking the position and then answer questions from the council.
Selected committee members will serve two-year terms.

Vice Mayor Glenn Miller and council members Bob Coady and Susan Vanik comprised the committee, which drafted the new rules.

The council's recommendations will be given before the end of the Aug. 3 meeting.

Information about the application process is available at Carefree Town Hall, 100 Easy Street, or on the town's website, www.carefree.org.
