As a concerned citizen I attended an informational session on the CCUSD bond. We asked superintendent Dr. Cort Monroe some questions and I was surprised he didn’t know the answer. Eventually he did get back to us with the answers and I’ve included them below for our community to see as well. We all should be informed on this upcoming bond election:
Are we still paying from the 2014 bond? If so, for how much longer?
The bonds issued from the November 2014 bond election will be fully repaid on 7/1/30.
How long will we be paying on this new bond?
The new bonds are expected to be amortized over 15 years.
Is there a prepayment penalty on the debt service?
There is a prepayment penalty of $147,395
Are we paying off $11 million in debt still?
Yes, we are still paying off the $11 Million in debt.
