Arizona helmet pilot program launched

Arizona Motorcycle Safety & Awareness Foundation (AMSAF) is collaborating with RideNow Powersports to develop a pilot helmet program that will help individuals garner a quality DOT helmet with some financial assistance from AMSAF and a discount from RideNow Powersports. The corporate team believes the program will afford people the opportunity to purchase a good full-face DOT helmet at a reduced cost. The applicant is required to have a motorcycle (M) endorsement, fill out an application and donate $50 to AMSAF, which is tax-deductible. If funds are not available, people will not be able to get into the application process, as it will be closed. If AMSAF has additional funds available, applicants will receive a receipt with a promo code and instructions that they can take them to one of a number of specified RideNow Powersports locations. The letter will extend a credit for $125 off a specified helmet. In addition, RideNow Powersports will give an additional off select helmets. The promo code is only good for one full-face DOT helmet defined in program and the application process began Sept. 2.

Note: Arizona is a state where riders have a choice whether to wear a helmet or not. AMSAF wants to assist those who choose to wear a helmet to financially be able to afford one. This program is possible due to grants, sponsors, donations and partners who want to help reduce crashes and fatalities in Arizona.

The helmet program is open to all Arizona residents 15 years, six months old or older. Funds for this program come from donations, sponsorship and grants.

AMSAF’s mission is to promote motorcycle safety and awareness and help reduce crashes and fatalities in Arizona. In doing so, we offer a one-of-a-kind Arizona motorcycle training financial assistance scholarship program. This program also allows individuals to get into motorcycle training at a reduced cost. In addition, AMSAF offers safety tips on its Facebook page and wants to help the motorcycle community in other ways financially.
