On behalf of the Kiwanis Club of Carefree, I would like to personally invite you to attend the Kiwanis Annual Scholarship Program Event on May 15th at 5:30 pm at the Fine Arts Center in North Scottsdale, so you can witness firsthand how our volunteer hours and funding is applied right here in the local community. There will be a reception afterwards with light hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
Each year the Kiwanis Scholarship Committee, chaired by Janet Busbee, works very hard to determine which local area students will receive scholarship awards. This year we are very proud to announce that as a result of all of the efforts by the Kiwanis Membership and the Marketplace Volunteers, the Kiwanis Club/Foundation will be awarding a total of $250,000 in scholarship awards to 34 deserving students. The Keynote speaker will be Tara Jackson, President of the Arizona Town Hall, whose objective is to create an informed community where participants discuss challenging political and social topics in a manner which builds consensus and creates blueprints for positive change.
Please join us in the joy of seeing these students receive these awards. You are welcome to bring a photographer or to take pictures yourself. We will be taking pictures and be able to furnish you with the names and details of the recipients after the event in a follow up press release.
